Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

The short version: Loc'd In is a marketplace that connects clients with independent stylists. We don't employ stylists, we don't do hair, and we don't issue refunds for services — the stylist does. You agree to use the platform respectfully, pay what you owe, and not be a no-show.

1. Who we are

Loc'd In ("we," "us," "the platform") is a booking marketplace operated out of Houston, Texas, connecting clients with independent beauty professionals ("stylists") for hair, nails, lashes, makeup, brows, skincare, wigs, waxing, massage, and bridal services. The platform is accessible at locdin.net.

2. Who can use Loc'd In

You must be at least 18 years old to book a service, sign up as a stylist, or pay through the platform. By using the platform you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. The relationship between you, the stylist, and us

Stylists are independent professionals. They are not employees, agents, or contractors of Loc'd In. We do not perform services, we do not warrant the quality of any service, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any stylist or client.

Our role is limited to: maintaining the marketplace, processing bookings, handling payments via our payment provider, and providing tools for stylists to run their business.

4. Bookings, deposits, and payments

Deposits

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. The deposit is applied to the final cost of your service. Deposits are processed through Stripe and held by the stylist's connected Stripe account, not by Loc'd In.

Cancellations and no-shows

If you cancel more than 24 hours before your appointment, the stylist may refund your deposit at their discretion. Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment, and no-shows, forfeit the deposit. Each stylist may publish their own cancellation policy that supersedes this default.

Refund disputes

Refunds for completed services are between you and the stylist. Loc'd In does not mediate service-quality disputes. If you believe a charge is fraudulent or unauthorized, contact us at support@locdin.net.

Platform fees

Loc'd In collects a transaction fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per booking (the same as our payment processor's rate, with a small margin to cover platform costs). We do not take a commission on new-client bookings. Stylists pay a monthly subscription of $19/month to maintain their storefront.

5. Stylist accounts

Stylists agree to: maintain a current and accurate profile, hold any required state licensure (Texas TDLR cosmetology, barbering, or related), connect a valid Stripe account for payouts, and provide services as advertised.

Loc'd In may suspend or terminate a stylist account for repeated client complaints, payment disputes, license violations, or any conduct that damages the platform's reputation.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Content and photos

You retain ownership of photos and content you upload. By uploading, you grant Loc'd In a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display that content on the platform and in marketing materials related to the platform. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any photo, especially photos of clients.

8. Intellectual property

The Loc'd In name, logo, design, code, and brand assets are owned by Loc'd In and may not be used without written permission.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by Texas law, Loc'd In is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including damages from a service performed by a stylist booked through the platform. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid the platform (not the stylist) in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Loc'd In harmless from any claim, damage, or expense arising from your violation of these terms, your use of the platform, or your interaction with any other user.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the platform after a change constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas.
